Wir haben gerade Sin Nombre angeschaut, sehr zu empfehlen. Jedoch nicht gerade der typische Sonntags-Nachmittagsfilm, da doch ziemlich blutig. Er handelt von einem Flüchtlingstrek aus Mexiko und Südlicher in Richtung USA auf Güterzügen. Und hier sind diesmal nicht die USA die Bösen (indirekt natürlich schon, da sie wie wir das immigrieren so gefährlich wie möglich gestalten), sondern andere arme Menschen, insbesondere der Gang Mara Salvatrucha.
Kommen gerade aus Alice im Wunderland 3D zurück. Die Mitgängerin fand ihn sehr prima, weil der Film sehr feministisch war und endlich auch mal ein Mädchen eine Hauptrolle spielte und wichtige Sachen tut und macht. (Der Ultimative Test für feministische Filme ist übrigens, dass zwei Frauen vorkommen müssen, die sich unterhalten, und es in dem Gespräch nicht um Männer gehen darf). Meiner Meinung war der Film eher doof, 3D reicht nicht. Konnte Avatar noch das Wow schlecht hin für schöne Grafik und 3D einsammeln reichte es hier für ein “hübsche Bilder, mmm die Story hätte man auch in 20min erzählen können”. Johnny Depp musste sinnfreie Wortspiele* aufzählen und einen albernen Tanz aufführen der mit seinen 10sec kurz vor Schluss einfach nur eingeschnitten wirkte. Der Spannungsverlauf war nicht etwa steigend sondern so eine Art Sinuskurve. Kurz vor Schluss einer jeden Minihandlung (etwa Angriff von großem Tier was später plötzlich und ohne erkennbaren Grund zum besten Freund wird) wird Alice in die nächste Minihandlung geschubst (gehe nach Süden, äh Norden, reite auf einem Hut).
Dann lieber American McGee’s Alice oder Elephants Dream für einen graphisch interessanten Film.
Achja, ich hab nix gegen feministische Filme, aber mir glaubt ja keiner.
* die Wortspiele sollen im Buch auch vorkommen und dort schon doof sein, ich geb zu ich las es nie.
yesterday i had the chance to try out the new sony reader – something which is supposed to replace books in the far future. electronic paper seems to be a very nice development, yes you can read better than on regular displays. i would like to have a device like that for every-day-newspaper usage; but they did not even seem to really think about this possibility. imagine combining the economics part of newspaper #1 with feuilleton of newspaper #2, of course synchronized each day per wifi.
the only thing you can find on it are some bestseller books and al the things you put on yourself.
if you want more material (books) you have to get through a complicated registration/synchronization process (of course win32 / macosx only) and several minutes later you can read them, as cheap as the paper version. lol. of course all content is drm crippled (hey, we won the drm war?!); at least there seem to be support for pdf / rss newsfeeds (but why special software then?) but no wifi. goodbye idea of hacked reader with newspapers. eur299 saved ;)
update: with txtr, there seems to be a german challenger, linux equipped and much cleaner.
the german children channel’s night talker “bernd das brot”, recently kidnapped, doing the best night program on saturday. good for kika, but a bad sign for the boring program on all those other channels. here. ok, whose gonna watching tv at these time anyway?

which could not be more oppositional, but both very good: history melodram “der baader-meinhof-komplex” (yet in german only) and the new pixar movie “Wall-E”.
you all still know the vizualisation kits in media players like xmms or winamp? this one whose link i just remembered is a bit different. it’s the result of multiple computers (60.000) all calculating on beautiful animations. users are deciding which stuff they like and so a genetic algorithm is generating the video. cool idea isn’t it? you can watch some movies here: www.hifidreams.com.
by the way, the name comes from one of the best books of philip k. dick: “do androids dream of electric sheep?”; perhaps better known film adaption “blade runner”.
great film for dvd evening. the dramaturgical part is a bit confused but this shouldn’t dissuade you. and don’t forget listen to dialogues while stunning about great camera.
